Bix 7 - Davenport, Iowa, July 20, 2002

From Sean Kelly: BIX is a really hilly 7 miler in Davenport Iowa that draws a huge crowd every year. This year it was the U.S. National 7 mile Championships, and Meb Keflezighi won in 32:36.

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Looks like it is a pretty big deal in Davenport:

Keweenaw Trail Running Festival 10K, Hancock, MI, July 13, 2002

Randy "WiLdMan" Wildman ran this race while attending a trail running festival out in Michigan. What he had to say:

At mile 4, I had just finished a surge that put me ahead of everybody I had a right to expect to beat. I was up by 100 meters or more, and I was really, really feeling good. I was going to catch my breath a bit for the final surge to the finish line, but instead I tripped over a rock, rolled over, and splayed onto the ground. When I got it back, I was still in the thick of the group I wanted to beat, and was just collecting myself when wham! It happened again! Final time, 41:44, good for 24th place, 6th in my age group.

Thats two in a row for Randy. Sounds like the Wildman has a knack for dramatic finishes...we wait for future reports...

St. Dennis Festival 5k, Madison, WI, July 27, 2002
Drew Eldridge-Martin ran the St. Dennis Festival 5k along with Luke of Wednesday night fame. They both claim the humidity was horrible. Probably not an incorrect statement. Congrats to Drew for his road PR performance.
